Frank Ocean had a good night at the 2013 Grammy Awards. There is no secret he received some attention for a letter he wrote about falling in love with someone of the same gender. He got much attention and applause from the LGBT community.
And of course some negative responses as well.
We asked a few artist who we feature on our Music Channel what they thought about Frank Ocean’s Grammy night:
“I think his sexuality got him the exposure, but it was the music that got him the Grammy. Good music deserves to be exploited, and not necessarily who someone happens to love” -Damien Crawford

“The industry is crazy for judging music off of a sexual preference. He’s a phenomenal artist and my favorite. It’s 2013. I don’t know how there is still so much discrimination in the world. It’s sickening.” – (ally) Dallas Wade
“I think Frank Ocean winning is the beginning of a new era of entertainment.
One where people could care less about your ethnicity, preference or anything else that could hold you back. It’s about the music. Not the entertainer’s personal life. I salute him.” -The Omni Rose
