National Youth Pride Services continues its series introducing its members and youth all across the country to people we think they should know. From Wanda Sykes to Frank Ocean to Terrence Ford to Kali Lindsey, we walk to focus on people from all walks of life, all levels and all backgrounds. We especially like to highlight those who support work for black LGBT on the national level either through collaborations with us or other groups.

One such person is Gee Smalls, producer of the extraordinary “Gentlemen’s Ball”, held every year in Atlanta, Ga that was attended by NYPS supporters and list makers Maurice Jamal and Damien Crawford.

Gee was born on March 24 and is married. (He was married to Juan Session, co-owner on our birthday, October 23!)

He is the owner of G-Spot Productions.

NYPS was proud to sponsor the Gentlemen’s Ball this past January. Unlike most major black LGBT events that have started hard line policies against black LGBT youth, Gee Smalls and G-Spot productions have found a way to allow to allow black LGBT youth a way to engage in the event, without physically attending through our mobile app and TV channel, as well as youth related interviews and more.

This is a bold innovative step for promoters looking to provide services to adults, while respecting the next generation at the same time.

We salute Gee Smalls and introduce him as someone all black LGBT youth Should know.
